LG’s claim that their new UltraGear lineup of gaming monitors sport 1ms pixel response time is pretty alluring, especially since they already have high refresh rate (144Hz), Adaptive-Sync variable refresh rate, and Nano Cell accurate colors! Check it out here:

Nobody talks about the light bleeding or glow light of these units and yet worse the bad stand which has a high minimum height. Not good… Plus it's not real gsync

Does it actually have 1ms response time? I heard it lacks and fluctuates from 1 to 4ms

I was this close to buying this monitor for quarantine gaming, until I learned it has a sub 800:1 contrast ratio, which is a bit pathetic. 350nits is ok, but HDR support for this price would be expected. I'll wait for its successor.

Also, I have an Nvidia card, should I wait and see if LG make their next GL monitor true G-Sync? Is 165Hz really, realistically, that much better than 144Hz? I bought an Asus PG279QE but it was defective so had to have a refund. A known problem that Asus ROG admit and require an RMA to update the firmware. Screw that! I just sent it back to Amazon instead. Now I need a different monitor to replace my ageing 60Hz Samsung.

Would you say the 850 is recommended over the 83A? I can buy the 83A from Amazon but not the 850, for some reason they're not selling it.

My whole family is worried because my uncle caught inverse-ghosting and is in the hospital now. We are hoping he didn't pass inverse-ghosting to any of us.
